Samsung Gains Approval and Partnership for a 50 MW Floating Data Center

Samsung Heavy Industries has advanced its floating data center concept by securing Approval in Principle from ABS and Lloyd’s Register for a 50 MW design. The company also signed a three-way agreement with Capital Clean Energy Carriers and Lloyd’s Register to commercialize the platform. In parallel, it added Supermicro and Mousterian Corp. partnerships to test AI server resilience and prepare for U.S. market deployment. The project aims to shorten delivery time, improve cooling through seawater, and ease pressure on strained terrestrial data center capacity.
