AWS Introduces Durable Storage Option for ElastiCache for Valkey

AWS has added durability options to Amazon ElastiCache for Valkey, expanding the service beyond pure caching into persistent workloads. The new feature lets teams choose synchronous durability for lower data loss or asynchronous durability for lower write latency. The update opens up use cases such as AI memory, session storage, workflow state, RAG knowledge bases, payment tokenization, and inventory management. AWS now makes durability available in all regions for Valkey 9.0, while traditional non-durable ElastiCache remains the default cache option.
