Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management gets a smarter exposure score

Microsoft is updating Defender Vulnerability Management with a smarter exposure score model in public preview. The new model combines CVSS, EPSS, asset criticality, internet exposure, and remediation impact to produce a more representative view of risk. Microsoft says the change helps security teams prioritize where to remediate first and understand why those actions matter. The updated scoring will also reprioritize recommendations and may change existing scores because it uses a new baseline.
