Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts is working with Gemini Health to lower prescription drug costs for its members. The program integrates directly into providers’ prescribing workflow and surfaces lower-cost alternatives that match the Blue Cross formulary. The first phase launched in November 2025 and has already generated more than 900,000 prescription alternative prompts across over 100,000 providers. Blue Cross plans to expand the rollout to self-funded employer accounts and is co-developing a text-message solution to deliver savings information directly to members at the point of prescribing.
