Cargill launches livestock development initiative in Maharashtra

General News

Summary

Cargill launched an Integrated Dairy Development Initiative in Maharashtra’s Ahilyanagar district with partners Syngenta Foundation India and Digital Green India. The program will invest more than ₹2.3 crores over two years to improve livestock health, dairy productivity, and farmer resilience. It combines mobile veterinary vans, farmer training, and an AI-powered advisory platform called FarmerChat to deliver local-language guidance and access to livestock services. The initiative will initially support farmers in 26 villages and reach 5,000 farmers directly across 120 villages, with plans to expand beyond the first district.
