Urban Airship Secures $25M in Funding

Urban Airship, a Portland, Oregon-based provider of mobile push messaging solutions that build relationships with connected consumers, secured $25m in funding.The round, which brings the total raised by Urban Airship to $46.6m, was led by August Capital with participation from existing investors Foundry Group, Intel Capital, True Ventures and Verizon.In conjunction with the funding, August Capital’s co-founder and and partner John Johnston joined Urban Airship’s Board of Directors.Led by Scott Kveton, co-founder and CEO, Urban Airship provides services that streamline delivering targeted, cross-platform mobile push messages and Apple Passbook passes.Customers include brands such as CBS Interactive, ESPN, Groupon, shopkick, Walgreens, Warner Bros. and Waze.
