Mobawheel signed an MoU with Nasdaq-listed AEye to combine lidar perception with sound-wave-based road surface sensing. The companies will jointly explore sensor fusion methods that help autonomous vehicles and ADAS systems understand both surrounding objects and road conditions in real time. The collaboration targets harder-driving scenarios such as black ice, hydroplaning, and icy pavement, where conventional vision sensors fall short. Mobawheel plans to expand its EG-Way solution into smart cities, road management, and autonomous driving, while AEye brings software-defined lidar technology to the effort.
