Otsuka Pharmaceutical has joined with the National Institute for Environmental Studies, the Environmental Restoration and Conservation Agency, and other companies and organizations to launch a consortium focused on heatstroke countermeasures. The group aims to reduce the health risks created by climate change through joint research, awareness activities, and information sharing. Otsuka will contribute its research on hydration and electrolyte replenishment, along with decades of public education experience. The consortium also plans to accelerate the social implementation of practical heatstroke prevention measures and share findings more broadly in Japan and overseas.
