Chiba Prefecture's first renewable energy procurement through Eneoku: Sakura City optimizes electricity procurement for public facilities

Enerbank announced that Sakura City in Chiba Prefecture used its Eneoku reverse-auction service to switch electricity procurement for 54 public facilities to 100% renewable energy from April 2026. The city also cut projected electricity costs by about 60 million yen, or roughly 20%, compared with a standard utility tariff benchmark. The release highlights how the platform simplified a complex procurement process and reduced the administrative burden on the municipality. Enerbank says it will keep working with local governments to expand decarbonization and efficient energy procurement through Eneoku and related digital services.
