Scientists developed a ramanome-based phage susceptibility test that uses Raman spectroscopy to identify bacterial infection responses in about one hour. The method measures conserved spectral biomarkers and combines them into a Composite Infection Index for faster susceptibility classification. It reaches strong agreement with plaque assays and can also rank phage potency and estimate the minimum effective dose. The work supports precision phage therapy by making phage selection faster and more quantitative.
