Academimic and Nikken Sekkei Research Institute are launching Ki Sci Iki, a project that turns underused urban spaces into venues for research outreach. The initiative will translate research into art and exhibition formats and place them in stations, commercial common areas, temporary walls, and vacant spaces. The partners will run a kickoff event for researchers, urban practitioners, creators, and science communicators, and they are also recruiting participants and space owners for future pilot displays. The project builds on a 2025 demonstration in Sendai and aims to expand to multiple cities, including Tokyo and Osaka.
