Okayama University’s Okayama Digital Innovation Creation Platform (OI-Start) selected for the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry’s “Regional DX Promotion Lab” — Accelerating DX in the Okayama region with the power of industry-academia-government-finance collaboration
Summary
Okayama University’s OI-Start platform has been selected by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and IPA as a Regional DX Promotion Lab. The program aims to help local organizations use IoT, AI, and other digital technologies to solve regional challenges and strengthen the local economy. OI-Start brings together about 180 institutions across academia, government, and industry, and it already supports companies from DX vision planning through proof-of-concept and commercialization. The designation also brings promotional support, mentor dispatches, and opportunities to connect with other regions. This creates a broader ecosystem for digital transformation work in Okayama and may open the door for partner-led implementation projects.
