BMI to acquire Soundmouse from Orfium to build ‘largest and most comprehensive’ global cue sheet database

BMI has agreed to acquire Soundmouse from music tech firm Orfium to combine cue sheet operations and build what it calls the largest global cue sheet database for audiovisual content. Soundmouse uses AI-driven technology to automate creation of cue sheets for films, TV, commercials, video games and more, and BMI will operate it as an independent company while remaining a major client. BMI will fund the deal from operating cash without affecting royalty distributions, and Todd Horvath will oversee Soundmouse operations; the transaction is expected to close mid-2026. Orfium said it invested significantly in Soundmouse under its ownership and believes BMI’s scale and relationships will accelerate the platform’s next growth stage.
