Now Bar in One UI 9 will support three more types of third-party apps

Google introduced a new Metric Style Live Updates template in Android 17 at Google I/O, allowing apps to show three data points simultaneously. The Metric Style targets health & fitness, timers, and travel apps and supports display in notifications, the status bar chip, the lock screen, and always-on display. Samsung integrates Android's Live Updates into the Now Bar, so any app that adopts the new layout will automatically appear in One UI 9's Now Bar. Developers can now surface continuous real-time metrics (for example, calories, heart rate, and pace) directly on Galaxy devices.
