Strive Masiyiwa announces the launch of the AI Skills & Compute Africa (AISCA) Foundation in Kigali to expand African AI capacity and sovereign compute. Cassava Technologies is the founding technology partner and its first “AI Factory” is already operational and selling compute to large organisations. AISCA will curate African datasets, offer tiered AI skills pathways to train 1 million youth, and provide grants in the form of compute “AI Tokens” to selected researchers and startups. The foundation has already shortlisted an inaugural cohort of 10 grantees and invites universities, ventures, philanthropists, and partners to support and join the initiative.
