OpenAI Codex: Appshots, Goal Mode, and More Team Features
Summary
OpenAI rolled out several new Codex features including Mac-specific Appshots that attach an app window to a Codex thread and capture screenshots plus text content. The formerly experimental /goal mode is now a standard feature, letting users set long-running objectives for Codex across app, IDE, or CLI with the ability to pause, intervene, or use side-chat. Users can now have Codex securely operate Mac apps from a phone even when the Mac is locked and the display is off, and the in-app browser gained an enhanced annotation mode. For teams and enterprises OpenAI added shared plugins (initially for Business users and Enterprise early access) and improved analytics around usage, credits, tokens, runs, code lines, and plugin activity.
