SUNY and D2L Launch Educator-in-Residence Program to Advance Digital Learning Practices

D2L and the State University of New York launched a special edition of D2L’s Educator-in-Residence program to fund and support research on technology-enhanced teaching using the Brightspace learning platform. The initiative provides seed funding, project management, and dissemination opportunities for five SUNY institutions to investigate topics such as cognitive load reduction, specifications grading, trauma-informed doctoral learning, gamified career-aligned examples, and intelligent agent support for large STEM courses. The program aims to produce practical strategies to increase accessibility, foster student success, and promote inclusive pedagogy. Results from the research will be presented at the D2L Fusion conference in July 2026.
