Lunar co-founder exits CEO role after 11 years

Ken Villum Klausen, co-founder and CEO of Danish digital bank Lunar, is stepping down after leading the company since 2015 and says the timing 'feels right.' Søren Kyhl, who spent over 13 years at Danske Bank and 10 years at Saxo Bank (latterly as deputy CEO), will take over at the start of June. Lunar has raised more than €500m, serves over one million customers and around 40,000 business customers across the Nordics, and recently launched an in-app crypto platform and secured a MiCA crypto licence. The bank cut management costs and saw several executive departures last year as it aims for long-term profitability, and the board highlighted Kyhl's regulatory and commercial experience to lead the next phase.
