Toward Realizing Nature Positive: Dramatically Enhancing the Analytical Accuracy of “BiomeViewer,” Which Visualizes Natural Capital by Location and Species

Biome, a Kyoto University spinout, announced a major upgrade to its BiomeViewer mapping and analytics platform to support nature-positive decision-making and corporate TNFD reporting. The update increases biodiversity observation data by about 2.5× and species coverage by roughly 1.2×, adopts ensemble modeling across up to four algorithms, and refreshes high-resolution environmental inputs (including recent satellite data) to boost species distribution prediction accuracy. BiomeViewer now visualizes dependencies and impacts at site and species level with ~1km resolution, helps identify priority conservation and OECM candidate areas, and supports corporate risk/opportunity assessments for TNFD disclosure. Biome underpins the service with its Biome mobile collection app (over 1.25 million downloads) and a database of more than 10 million biological records to integrate biodiversity data into corporate decision-making.
