Google Phone, system dialers can show calls from third-party apps

New Products

Summary

Google released Jetpack Telecom v1.1.0 to let third-party VoIP apps integrate with Phone by Google and other system dialers. The update enables system dialers to surface call logs from third-party apps and to initiate callbacks to VoIP contacts directly. Developers can also opt calls out of system logs with a Call Log Exclusion feature to preserve privacy and ephemeral behavior. The features require Android 16.1 (SDK 36.1) or higher and Google is rolling the system-dialer integration out in phases, starting with Google Meet, while using secure package allowlists to limit spam.
