From Sports to Education — A-GOAL Implements the International Academic Assessment “TOFAS” in Kibera Slum

A-GOAL partnered with Sprix and the Sprix Education Foundation to run the TOFAS international academic assessment for over 40 primary and lower-secondary students in Nairobi’s Kibera slum. The organizations used A-GOAL’s football league network to recruit participants, and Sprix supplied tablets, internet connectivity, test administration, and analysis. The initiative aimed to visualize students' learning levels against international standards and provide feedback and actionable insights for future support. The project also included a guardian survey and on-the-ground teacher support to address language and infrastructure challenges.
