[VC Investee] Ibex Medical Aggressively Recruits Talent… IPO Preparations Proceeding Smoothly
Summary
Microsoft is overhauling its Windows driver strategy with a Driver Quality Initiative presented at WinHEC 2026 that targets architecture, reliability, lifecycle and quality measurement. The company will change Windows 11's driver installation flow to prevent Windows Update from downgrading newer GPU drivers and will consolidate HWID and CHID targeting under the Windows Hardware Compatibility Program to ensure the most recent driver installs. Microsoft will introduce Cloud-Initiated Driver Recovery so Windows Update can automatically replace a defective driver with the last known stable version without user intervention. The new targeting system aims to ship by late 2026 or early 2027 and the cloud recovery feature is planned from September; the policy applies to new graphics driver submissions and does not alter existing correctly functioning drivers.
