Global ID, Idiap partner to scale finger vein biometrics with machine learning

Global ID announced a partnership with the Idiap Research Institute to industrialize and scale finger-vein authentication via a machine learning-driven project called KIDOLEH. The initiative will develop and evaluate a new data processing pipeline using data from Global ID’s F2 multi-view finger-vein imager to deliver faster, secure template comparison and practical de-duplication. The effort targets high-security and healthcare settings to improve patient matching, tighten staff access control, and reduce fraud. The collaboration builds on a long history between Global ID and Idiap, prior projects (including CANDY), and recently awarded U.S. patents for Global ID’s BioID protocol.
