Zoho Invests ₹70 Cr In ONDC To Back Sovereign Tech Infrastructure
Summary
Zoho has invested ₹70 Cr (about $7.3M) in the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) to back India’s digital commerce infrastructure and drive MSME adoption. Zoho is integrating products like Vikra, Zoho ERP, Zoho Books, Zoho Inventory and Zoho Commerce to help small merchants digitise operations and connect with buyers on the ONDC protocol. ONDC operates as an open, decentralized commerce network launched by DPIIT, and it reports wide reach—operational in 616 cities with over 7.64 lakh sellers and claiming 21.8 crore transactions across segments in FY26. The network has seen mixed retail momentum recently, with retail volumes under pressure and buyer-app discounts reduced after incentive scaling changes, while logistics and other segments continue to onboard major players.
