Pakistan to launch digital life certificate system for 1.7 million pensioners

The federal government will introduce a digital life-certificate system to verify 1.7 million pensioners. NADRA developed the system using biometric authentication and facial recognition, and officials plan an app-based "proof of life" feature as well as integration via NADRA’s e-Sahulat app. The State Bank of Pakistan has directed commercial banks to integrate with NADRA so pension eligibility is checked against national records before disbursing payments. Banks will continue to handle pension payouts while the verification mechanism moves to the new digital platform to increase transparency and efficiency.
