▤ Summary

The Government Digital Service built a demo Rails app that suggests Topic Taxonomy tags for GOV.UK documents and draft content by leveraging previously generated embeddings. The app stores embeddings in PostgreSQL with the pgvector extension and uses the neighbor gem to find similar documents and surface their tags as suggestions, and it uses GOV.UK Frontend and the Design System for the UI. The team is hosting the demo on Render and running user research with original participants to evaluate result quality. Team members also attended a CoTech Gathering to plan an autumn event, discussed potential collaborations, and noted an award for partners at CrossSense.
