Scispot released the MCP Server, a Model Context Protocol server that lets AI assistants like Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor securely read live lab context and take governed actions inside Scispot workspaces. The server exposes 27 MCP tools across Labsheets, Labspaces (ELN), Manifests, Freezer Manager, Labflows, and image retrieval to enable AI-driven updates, queries, and structured data access without exporting data. Every MCP action inherits user-level permissions and audit trails, and sensitive changes can require approvals to preserve compliance, traceability, and chain of custody. The capability targets high-throughput and regulated labs—such as molecular diagnostics, CROs, CDMOs, and AI-driven biotech teams—and is available now to Scispot customers with demos for evaluators.
