Lantek and Ikerlan promote their own agentic AI to strengthen the technological sovereignty of Basque industry
Summary
GALAXIA is an R&D initiative coordinated by Lantek with IKERLAN as technological lead to build an industrial agentic AI based on multi-agent systems for sectors such as retail, healthcare and manufacturing. The project, funded by the Basque Government's HAZITEK programme, aims to strengthen technological sovereignty by keeping control of data, processes and knowledge and reducing dependence on external platforms. The architecture assigns defined roles and autonomy levels to specialised agents so they can analyse, plan, supervise and execute coordinated actions in real production environments while complying with the EU AI Act. Consortium partners are validating use cases like automated quotation generation, computer-vision-triggered product replenishment, and automated incident resolution to demonstrate a shift from conversational assistants to autonomous task execution.
