Microsofts new Windows 11 Bluetooth update comes with useful benefits (and a major caveat)

Microsoft is rolling out Bluetooth LE Audio support to select Windows 11 PCs, adding a "Shared audio (preview)" feature that can broadcast audio from a PC to two compatible accessories. The update also brings super wideband (SWB) voice support and SWB stereo on supported machines for clearer voice calls and a wider soundstage. Microsoft omits the Auracast name but adopts the Bluetooth LE Audio standard; however, the company limits PC broadcasts to two receivers despite Auracast's ability to support many more. To try the feature, enable a compatible Copilot+ PC on the Dev or Beta Channel and install Windows updates, or wait for driver updates if your PC is not yet supported; Microsoft lists specific Surface models that currently support LE Audio.
