Senegal’s KaliSpot Secures $4M in Equity and Debt to Scale
Summary
KaliSpot secured $4 million in combined equity and debt to scale its interoperable 1Net network of smart financial kiosks and expand into new markets including Côte d'Ivoire, Gabon and Guinea in 2026. The round brought in new investor Sékou Drame, former CEO of Sonatel, alongside existing angel backers and a sub-regional financial institution. KaliSpot will use the funds to deploy additional kiosks, enhance back-end technology, and strengthen operational capacity for a broader regional rollout. The 1Net platform links physical touchpoints with digital services to enable cash-in/cash-out and interoperable banking, mobile money and fintech access. This funding aligns with growing interest in hybrid financial-inclusion infrastructure aimed at bridging cash-based economies with formal digital finance across West and Central Africa.
