Paradise Valley officer uses new product to save worker’s life after accident
Summary
PARADISE VALLEY, AZ (AZFamily) — A Paradise Valley Police Department officer used a new medical tool to save a man’s life after an industrial accident severed a major artery earlier this month. Officer Daniel Arvidson responded to the industrial site accident and applied TraumaGel directly to the worker’s wound, preventing him from bleeding out before paramedics arrived. Body-worn camera video released by the Paradise Valley Police Department shows Arvidson sprinting to the scene where a worker was bleeding heavily after a grinder struck his arm. The video shows Arvidson pulling out a syringe and applying the gel directly to the man’s wound. Paradise Valley Police Chief Freeman Carney said the department is the first in Arizona to carry trauma gel and the first to save a life with it.
