Cellestial Health: further funding for pioneering approach to slow or stop Parkinson’s

Cellestial Health received £55,000 from Parkinson’s UK to continue research into astrocytes and their possible role in Parkinson’s disease. The company is working with the University of Manchester to study biomarkers and disease hallmarks in human brain and cerebrospinal fluid samples. The project aims to better understand when drugs that repair astrocyte networks might help people with Parkinson’s. The funding also extends an existing collaboration and builds on earlier commercial support for the company.
