D2C brand P-TAL has raised $3 Mn in its Series A funding round led by Venture Catalysts syndicated fund VC Grid and Nikhil Kamaths Rainmatter.The funding round also saw participation from US-based VC firm Connecticut Innovations, former Titan Capital partner Bipin Shahs new VC fund Zero Pearl, Anicut Capital, Jaipur Rugs Family Office, Livspaces Ramakant Sharma, Genesis Luxurys Sanjay Kapoor, Caratlanes Avnish Anand, Atombergs Shibam Das, and Innov8s Ritesh Malik.It is pertinent to note that this was Connecticut Innovations first investment in India, the startup said in a statement.P-TAL said it will utilise the fresh funding towards product innovation, technology-led supply chain efficiencies, and empowering artisan communities in India.Notably, Inc42 reported in January this year that P-TAL was eyeing raising around $3.5 Mn in its next funding round.Founded in 2019 by Aditya Agrawal, Kirti Goel, and Gaurav Garg, P-TAL stands for Punjab Thathera Art Legacy. The startup sells brass and copper utensils to promote the craftsmanship of the Thathera community of Punjab.Currently, it has over 134 SKUs and sells its products through its own website, ecommerce marketplaces, and retail stores in India. It also exports its products to the US, the UK, Europe, and the Middle East, with these markets accounting for over 55% of its total business. P-TAL expects the overseas markets to contribute 75% to its revenue over the next 3 years.The D2C brand posted a revenue of INR 22 Cr in FY25, sources told Inc42. It is eyeing a revenue of INR 100 Cr in the ongoing financial year.Prior to this, P-TAL raised INR 4.3 Cr in a funding round led by Titan Capital, with participation from angel investors like Ghazal Alagh, Sandeep Aggarwal, Vishesh Khurana, Deep Bajaj, among others.It also appeared in Season 3 of Shark Tank India and received a funding of INR 1 Cr from all sharks Aman Gupta, Anupam Mittal, Amit Jain, Namita Thapar, and Vineeta Singh.
