ThinKom and KSAT Partner on New Earth Observation Ground Station Solution

ThinKom and KSAT have partnered to develop a receive-only ground station for Earth observation and satellite communications. The solution uses ThinKom’s Ka-band scalable Digital Array and phased-array antenna technology to improve network capacity and operational efficiency. KSAT will evaluate the system by tracking multiple satellites and processing wideband downlinks in collaboration with NOAA’s JPSS program. The companies also say the platform could expand into multi-band, mobile, and portable gateway configurations in future versions.
