RareCyte® Announces Research Grant to Investigate Molecular Profile of Circulating Trophoblasts in Fetal Growth Restriction

RareCyte received a $500K Gates Foundation grant to study fetal growth restriction using its liquid biopsy and precision biology platforms. The company will work with researchers at the University of Cape Town and Groote Schuur Hospital in South Africa on a two-phase pilot study. The project will analyze circulating trophoblasts from maternal blood to identify gene expression differences and molecular pathways linked to placental dysfunction. RareCyte expects the study to finish in the first half of 2026 and use the results to guide future translational research.
