KIOXIA expands SSD line-up, targeting GenAI | Electronic Specifier

KIOXIA expanded its SSD portfolio with the LC9 Series to target generative AI environments. The drives use a 32-die stack of 2Tb BiCS FLASH QLC 3D flash memory and CBA technology to deliver high capacity, speed, and power efficiency. KIOXIA says the new form factor supports data lakes, large language model training, embeddings, vector databases, and retrieval-augmented generation workloads. The company positions the SSDs as a way to reduce bottlenecks, lower power consumption, and improve total cost of ownership for data center and hyperscaler customers.
