Orbit Fab wins ESA contract and unveils In-Orbit Test of new refuelling port

Orbit Fab won £750,000 from the UK Space Agency through ESA’s ARTES programme to develop refuelling services for geostationary telecom satellites. The company said the project will help satellite operators extend mission life, improve reliability, and support new commercial models. Orbit Fab also unveiled its upcoming Shilling in-orbit demonstration mission to validate a high-pressure version of its RAFTI refuelling interface. The mission will launch in early 2026 and will test sealing technology designed to improve satellite reuse, reduce debris, and support defence resilience.
