Systems Maintenance Services Receives an Equity Investment from Summit Partners

Systems Maintenance Services, Inc., a Charlotte, NC-based global provider of multivendor IT asset lifecycle services and support solutions, received a “significant” equity investment from Summit Partners. Thomas H. Lee Partners, L.P., a private equity firm focused on investments in global businesses, will remain the majority shareholder. Founded in 1981 and led by Don Doctor, Chairman & CEO, SMS provides an advanced service portfolio which includes asset management, deployment, relocation, disposition, recycling, erasure, maintenance, and managed network and VOIP services. It supports more than 3,000 clients globally with physical locations across North America, Asia and Europe. Clients include datacenter brands such as Cisco, IBM, HP, Dell, Oracle, EMC, Hitachi, NetApp, Lexmark and Xerox.
