Download areas & navigate offline in Google Maps

Google Maps now lets users download offline areas to a mobile device or tablet and use them without an internet connection. Users can save maps to internal storage or an SD card, select custom areas, rename or delete saved maps, and set offline maps to update automatically. The feature still has limits in some countries and does not support all directions when offline. Google also surfaces recommended offline maps based on future trips from sources such as Gmail and Google Travel.
