Midwest BankCentre, Enterprise Bank & Trust Sponsor More Than $5.4 Million in Grants to Support Affordable Housing in St. Louis

Since 2015, Midwest BankCentre has facilitated more than $18 million in FHLB Des Moines affordable housing grants for St. Louis nonprofits, improving living conditions for 841 low-income households. Enterprise Bank & Trust has sponsored more than $14.9 million since 2005, supporting 20 rental and home ownership projects in St. Louis.These grants arent just dollars and cents, theyre about people. Beyond Housing will oversee both projects and provide homeowner empowerment services, including financial literacy education, budgeting, and counseling.A Midwest BankCentre-sponsored $1,209,600 grant will fund the rehabilitation of 60 homes owned by seniors and individuals with disabilities in the Lemay, Affton, and Mehlville communities of South St. Louis County. Repairs will include roofing, siding, masonry, electrical and plumbing work, and accessibility improvements.A Midwest BankCentre-sponsored $219,266 grant will fund the renovation of a vacant multifamily building at 3772 Chippewa Street in South St. Louis City. Originally built in 1935, the Tower Grove Community Development Corporation will transform the building into two rental unitsa three-bedroom and a four-bedroomdesigned for immigrant families in collaboration with the International Institute of St. Louis.
