Aktyvus Photonics secures €4.2M loan to boost laser tech in defense

Aktyvus Photonics, a Lithuanian laser technology developer, has received a strategic loan worth 4.2 million from Lithuanias national agency ILTE Lietuva. The financing will help the company boost laser technology application in the defense and dual-use sectors, as shared by Laurynas atas, CEO of Aktyvus Photonics. The company focuses on creating laser systems that can withstand extreme temperatures, shock, and humidity. Aktyvus Photonics incorporates additive manufacturing principles into their designs to improve the size, weight, and performance of their laser systems, while also exploring the use of advanced materials to enhance their capabilities.Part of our investment will be dedicated to the development of advanced integrated laser devices that can make a significant contribution to strengthening Ukraines defense capabilities. We believe that our decisive development direction, innovative solutions and stronger team will open new opportunities for us and our partners," says Laurynas atas, CEO of Aktyvus Photonics.The loan was granted under ILTEs Billion for Business Facility, which supports projects in the circular economy, digitalisation, energy efficiency, high-value-added product development and defence sector.ILTE is Lithuanias national development bank providing financial services to local business, public sector, agriculture, and fisheries.Aktyvus Photonics will use the loan to ensure the smooth growth of production capacity and the development of new integrated laser products.
