Creador acquires 13% stake in Vietnam’s pharmacy chain Long Chau

KUALA LUMPUR (April 25): Private equity firm Creador announced on Friday that it has acquired a 13% stake in FPT Long Chau Investment JSC, one of Vietnams largest pharmacy chains, for an undisclosed sum.This marks Long Chaus first-ever fundraising round and Creadors second investment in Vietnam.In a statement, Creador said Long Chau has grown rapidly from just four stores in 2017 to over 2,000 pharmacies and 140 vaccination centres, with a presence in all 63 provinces of Vietnam.The companys fast expansion has been driven by a visionary management team with strong retail expertise, earning consumer trust through quality products, a wide range of offerings and competitive pricing in a market still dominated by general trade.The investment is also Creadors 59th overall and its second in Southeast Asias pharmacy retail sector.Creador founder and CEO Brahmal Vasudevan praised Long Chaus scale and influence, calling it a leader in making healthcare more accessible and affordable.Long Chau stands at the forefront of making healthcare accessible and affordable for all, and we are proud to support its continued growth and impact, he said.Meanwhile, Nguyen Bach Diep, chairperson of FPT Retail and general director of Long Chau Investment welcomed Creador as a key partner.This partnership not only provides Long Chau with additional resources, but also offers an opportunity to gain international experience, enhance the quality of our products and services in a transparent and sustainable way, and contribute to improving public health in Vietnam, she added.
