Massachusetts-based Aras Corp., which specializes in product lifecycle management (PLM) and digital thread solutions, has launched AI-assisted search and intelligent assistant services, integrating Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service and Microsoft Copilot Studio. The new capabilities promise to transform how users interact with product data and PLM business processes, enabling engineers and product teams to quickly find, analyze and act on critical information through scalable search and conversational AI, according to the company. AI-assisted search allows users to search across structured and unstructured data managed by Aras Innovator SaaS. The technology provides seamless access to relevant engineering documentation, design files and other essential product information, Aras says, noting that the AI-powered assistant will let PLM users interact with Aras documentation and knowledge base using natural language. “With AI-assisted search and copilot capabilities, we’re exposing data in a way that helps users make more informed decisions throughout the product lifecycle,” CTO Rob McAveney said in a press release.
