Burbank Raises GBP5M in Seed Funding

The round was led by Mouro Capital with participation from Anthemis, Portfolio Ventures and others. The company intends to use the funds to support the launch of its platform. Led by CEO Justin Pike, Burbank provides a payment solution, Card-Present over Internet (CPoI), that enables Card-Present payments to be accepted in online channels, for the first time ever. This reduces fraud, processing fees and chargebacks for merchants while also eliminating false positives, offering a compelling value proposition. This technology integrates directly into mobile applications to enable a simple and frictionless yet consumer payments experience with bank-grade security and speed and scalability.
