Copia Power Secures $1.71 Billion for Maricopa Energy Center

Copia Power, a portfolio company of Carlyle, has successfully closed a $1.71 billion debt facility to fund the construction of the Maricopa Energy Center in Arizona. This project, which is poised to be the largest energy transition and power generation project in Arizona, includes 550 MW of solar generating capacity and 2,200 MWh of battery energy storage capacity. The financing was led by BNP Paribas, Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC), Cr\xe9dit Agricole CIB, KeyBanc Capital Markets, Natixis CIB, and Wells Fargo. The project is expected to begin operations between 2026 and 2027, featuring significant commitments from major financial institutions supporting large-scale clean energy initiatives.
