As part of the agreement, Andersen Consulting will be a new investor, joining previous investors in the $20 million strategic investment round that Silicon Energy Corp. closed last month to fund expansion of sales, marketing and engineering efforts for its leading EEM software products. "Additionally, Silicon Energys technology will allow large-scale commercial and industrial customers to have access to more powerful and cost-effective energy management tools to help optimize the consumption and procurement of one of the key drivers of their variable costs." EEM solutions provide customers more efficiency and cost savings for energy use and procurement. In addition, Andersen Consulting is licensing Silicon Energys software to showcase in its North American Utilities Solution Center in St. Petersburg, Fla. Andersen Consultings leading market position creates even greater opportunities for Silicon Energys accelerated expansion."
