Software Firm InfoCruiser Gets $10.2 Million

InfoCruiser Inc. is expected to announce today $10.2 million in venture funding, as the company gets ready to take its database optimization systems off the drawing board and into the office. Proprietary software algorithms that InfoCruiser has developed help its system analyze a databases use and intelligently manage the movement of data through caching for faster access. What InfoCruisers system does is recognize which bits of information are accessed the most and store them outside of the main database, keeping the data ready for quicker retrieval. Hayhurst, who had been acquainted with one of the directors, Gene Riechers, when the latter served with FBR TVP, had been introduced to the company about a year ago and so was familiar with what it was doing. InfoCruiser will use this round of funding to shift its focus from developing its database systems to selling them, by expanding its sales staff.
