Doximity Raises $10.8M, Helps Physicians Connect On The Web – And On The Go

The young health technology company this morning announced that it has landed a $10.8 million Series A venture capital investment from Emergence Capital Partners and InterWest Partners. The additional funding will be used to accelerate development of Doximity’s physician network, a free communication platform for healthcare professionals across the United States. Doximity basically enables physicians to use their iPhone, iPad, Android device or computer to connect with any other healthcare professional in the U.S. to collaborate on patient treatment or identify the appropriate expert for patient referrals. The software also offers physicians the a text messaging system, supporting care teams with high-resolution images. Doximity is led by Jeff Tangney, co-founder and former President & COO of Epocrates.
