FPAA Solutions for Sensor Applications
Summary
The investment will provide the joint European and USA company with the capital to develop its organisation following the successful launch of its first field programmable analog silicon, and the establishment of a global distribution network. The company has developed unique technology which addresses a critical issue for the electronics industry, as the demand for analog circuitry design skills to deal with increasingly complex products is fast outstripping supply. Using software, engineers simply drag-and-drop the analog function blocks they need into place, and with the click of a button the configuration data is downloaded to the FPAA - producing the required solution. "Analog components and design techniques have remained virtually static compared with progress in the digital world," notes Jeff Skill, VP of applications engineering Future Electronics. "FPAA technology promises to transform the situation for large segments of the analog market, by means of user-programmable components coupled with very high level software tools."
