The company, which offers its services under the "SchrottBienen" brand, raised four million euros in a recent financing round. "ScrapBees systematizes the collection of scrap metal on construction sites and ensures that the scrap metal is returned to the raw materials cycle as completely as possible," explains Johanna Antonie Tjaden-Schulte, Member of the Managing Board of NRW.BANK. "We help tradespeople with the installation and removal of old and new heating systems and take care of the recycling of all construction site waste," explains co-founder Thilo Hamm. The service is already used by more than 400 companies in the HVAC sector.Circular economy as a strategy for the futureThe potential is huge: the installation of 500,000 heat pumps each year generates around 300 kilograms of scrap metal.
